The Shovels is a destination real ale venue in Marton Moss on the main road between Blackpool and Lytham St Annes, close to the M55 and the airport. The original pub dated back to Victorian times and the present one was built on the same site in 1956. Today this traditional farmhouse local offers a warm welcome and a real fire. We are still a traditional pub but now boast a contemporary feel with leather seating and homely finishing touches. We are well known for not only the quality of our food but also the real ales served. We have won many awards from CAMRA and are Cask Marque accredited. Stephen has been collecting the ale pump clips since arriving at the Shovels, and these are proudly displayed on the ceiling above the bar. You can dine anywhere throughout the pub with the food offer being a particular favourite. During the summer diners are very welcome to eat al fresco on the patio. During the afternoon we are very popular for people popping in for coffee and muffins whilst browsing the daily papers that we supply. Complement your meal with a glass of wine or real ale and you will have a visit to remember. For the Sport enthusiasts there is lots going on. There are teams for football, cricket, pool, darts and dominoes plus a pool table for a friendly game over a quality pint. Try us out next time you are in the area, Stephen, Helen and our friendly team look forward to your visit.
